Harold Ewen

Vice Chairman
The CEA Group

Harold joined CEA in 1982, first serving as President, and has dedicated himself to CEA since.  He has 50 years of financing and investment banking experience in media related industries and has served as the senior executive and board member for domestic and international commercial financing firms and private equity funds.

Having co-founded CEA’s Private Equity Group in 1992, Harold continues to supervise the private equity activities of the firm and provides CEA clients as well as private funds with assistance accessing and structuring financings as needed.

Harold earned his BA of Business Administration in Accounting from Butler University and graduated Juris Doctorate Cum Laude from the Indiana University School of Law.

Harold grew up in Indianapolis.  He began his career in finance there, working as an internal auditor for an asset-based lender.  After heading the internal audit staff, he became a loan work-out specialist; and having seen the dark side of lending, became a commercial lender.   He was promoted to the head of the commercial finance department (except for machinery and equipment lending and leasing) where he gained experience analyzing client strengths and shortcomings and advising clients on operational improvements and expansion, ultimately establishing a valuable foundation for M&A and investment banking activities.

Harold is married and is the proud father of two children, who he says, “have not followed in my footsteps as my daughter works in the education field and my son is a physician and professor at a medical school.”
