Tampa, Florida - Communications Equity Associates (“CEA”) announced today that Bob Ennis has joined CEA’s investment banking and corporate finance team as a Managing Director. Mr. Ennis is based in the firm’s New York City office and is primarily responsible for interactive and new media transactions, both domestically and abroad.
Rick Michaels, Chairman of CEA, said “Bob’s global experience in the communications, broadcasting and new media sectors are vital strengths that will benefit CEA as we expand our global investment banking and fund management businesses.”
Prior to joining CEA, Mr. Ennis was President of Tensor Advisors, LLC, a firm that he founded to engage in strategic advisory and merchant banking activities in the media and new media industries. Prior to founding Tensor, Mr. Ennis was Vice President of IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ: IACI) from 2003 through 2005, where he held positions in Strategic Planning and Mergers & Acquisitions. Mr. Ennis was involved in over $6 billion of public and private acquisitions across a range of e-commerce verticals, focusing in particular on online travel, financial services and real estate.
From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Ennis was a Vice President of the News Corporation Limited (NYSE: NWS), where he was instrumental in the company’s international corporate development initiatives. He developed a highly-successful Emerging European outdoor advertising business; built, acquired and sold various radio and television broadcasting assets; and was active in the company’s international direct-to-home satellite television and thematic cable channels initiatives.
Mr. Ennis holds a master’s degree in International Economics from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School and a B.S. in Industrial Relations from Cornell University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research.
