Tampa, Florida - Communications Equity Associates (“CEA”) announced today that Jason Donnell has joined the firm as a Director of the investment banking and corporate finance division. Mr. Donnell is based in CEA’s New York office and will provide comprehensive M&A advisory and capital raising services to companies in the communications, media, entertainment, and information technology industries.
“Jason will be spearheading CEA’s expansion into the entertainment industries including film, television, music, and games and gaming” said CEA’s Chairman and CEO, Rick Michaels.
Mr. Donnell has over ten years of experience in finance, private equity, strategy and operations in the media and communications industries. Most recently he was a Principal with Platform Equity, a media investment firm, where he was responsible for deal origination, evaluation, and execution. Prior to joining Platform, Mr. Donnell was a Manager in the Strategic Planning Group at Twentieth Century Fox where he focused on corporate development and internal operational projects. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Senior Consultant with Booz-Allen & Hamilton. Additionally, Mr. Donnell spent time working with Allen & Company and Dimensional Associates, a private equity firm focused on digital media, while completing his graduate degree.
Mr. Donnell received his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his bachelor's degree with double majors in Economics and Engineering from Northwestern University.
